The close proximity of Penn State, the President’s close association with the institution for 30 years, and their growing interest in industry interactions provides an excellent opportunity for access to special consultants or instruments as needed on certain projects. The Huck Institute for the Life Sciences. " ...encourages research alliances across disciplinary boundaries and develops new approaches to the application of the basic life sciences in business. The Huck Institute for Life Sciences is responding to the rapid changes in the research and training needs of our technological society moving into a new millennium. The Institute is a virtual organization comprising seven of Penn State's colleges with faculty working in the life sciences. The Institute is dedicated to enhancing Penn State's ability to prepare students for tomorrow, strengthening research in the life sciences, encouraging research alliances across disciplinary boundaries and developing new approaches to the application of basic science in business.  See www.lsc.psu.edu
